    Description

    Antique pair 19th century, c1860s, original ambrotype photographs.  One is a ruby ambrotype portrait of a dapper gentleman in period suit with a long goatee and beard.  The second is an ambrotype of an overweight woman in a period dress.  Both are protected under antique glass in leather half cases, the man in a brass preserver and the woman without.
    Both in Good/As Found overall condition.  The gentleman shows gentle flaking to the ruby lacquer.  The woman has some great designs created from light exposure.  Both half cases show wear.
    Each ambrotype measures 3 1/4” x 2 3/4” and each half case measures 3 3/4” x 3 1/4”.
